This book starts with the introduction of the radar working system from a mathematical point of view. It shows the composition of transmitted signal and echo signal, and describes the principle of speed measurement and distance measurement for different radar systems. The book focuses on millimeter-wave radar technologies related to echo signal denoising, target identification, clustering, and target tracking and develops a workable plan for the information fusion idea between millimeter-wave radar and machine vision.

This book breaks down the systematic processing flow of millimeter-wave radar echo signals one by one from the standpoint of intelligent transportation, concentrating on the introduction of principles and reinforced by a plethora of experimental instances. So that readers from all relevant professions may comprehend millimeter-wave radar's involvement throughout the complete system process.

Lin Cao received a B.Eng. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Northeastern University, China, in 1999. He received Ph.D. in Signal and Information Processing from Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2005. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU). He teaches courses on digital signal processing, digital image processing, and soft design fundamentals. He is the dean of the School of Information and Communication Engineering and the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Optoelectronic Measurement Technology and Instrument at BISTU. He is a member of China Education Society of Electronics. He has published over forty papers on image processing and pattern recognition. His research interests include radar signal processing and image understanding and recognition. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE).

Zongmin Zhao received a B.S. degree in electronics technology from Nanchang Hangkong University, Nanchang, China, in 2004 and an M.S. degree in microelectronics and solid electronics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2007. He worked at Beijing East Whale Imaging Technology Co., Ltd., from 2007 to 2015 and was engaged in the research and development of medical ultrasound equipment. He received a Ph.D. in microelectronics and solid electronics from Beihang University, Beijing, China, in 2020. Currently, he is a teacher in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Beijing Information Science and Technology University. His research interests include MMW signal sampling and processing, target localization and tracking, and system reliability.

Dongfeng Wang received a Ph.D. degree in signal and information processing from the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2003. He worked with the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, successively as a research assistant fellow and an associate research fellow, from 2003 to 2008. Since 2008, he has been the general manager with Beijing TransMicrowave Technology Company Ltd. He is also a part-time professor with Beijing Information Science and Technology University. His research interest is in radar signal processing and the application of automobile millimeter-wave radar.
