This book focusses on Industry 4.0 which is one of the most challenging trends for all categories of manufacturing enterprises. In this book, variety of mechatronic solutions are discussed to develop a manufacturing control system for small and medium-sized enterprises as they impose to improve their capabilities by integration into Industry 4.0 standards.
Dr. Poorya Ghafoorpoor Yazdi holds an MSc. (2012) and a Ph.D. (2019) in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University. He is currently a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the German University of Technology in Oman. His current research deals with manufacturing technologies, comprising a wide spectrum of different trends such as automation of the manufacturing system, smart manufacturing control system, and performance evaluation/improvements of the manufacturing systems. With the combination of these studies, he aims to utilize new technologies, manufacturing paradigms, and control systems to improve the performance of the manufacturing systems.
Prof. Hashemipour received his M.Sc. degree from University of Warwick, UK, and his Ph.D. degree from Eastern Mediterranean University. Currently, he serves as vice rector in international affairs in Cyprus International University. His current research interests are computer-aided process planning (CAPP) on WEB, application of virtual reality in requirement analysis stage of the CIM in SMEs, development of computer-aided software engineering (CASE tools), process planning and scheduling integration for SMEs.This book provides an in-depth understanding of the fundamental scientific principles and technologies used in the design of modern computer-controlled machines and processes. It emphasizes the synergies in the design process and explores the challenges and opportunities for integrating diverse engineering disciplines. The book consists of six chapters that cover a wide range of topics related to mechatronics and control system engineering. Overall, the book is an excellent resource for professionals, engineers, researchers, and students who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of the trans-disciplinary field of mechatronics and control systems engineering.
