The Macintosh environment is very exciting. This book presents an introduction to various components of Mac OS X Tiger and teaches you how to easily work with Mac hardware, the operating system and all of the powerful digital media applications that are built right into your system.
The Macintosh environment is very exciting — and very confusing, especially for the first time user. What you need is one book that will guide you through all of the exciting features and programs that came with your new Mac. That's where Mac OS X Tiger All in One comes in. This thorough, easy-to-understand introduction to all of the components of Mac OS X Tiger will teach you how to easily work with Mac hardware, the operating system and all of the powerful digital media applications that are built right into your system. Did you know you can make your own music with a program called Garage Band? You can even burn CDs and DVDs using a program called iDVD. All of the features and programs in a Mac work together cohesively, so why consult multiple books that work against the natural flow of the Mac system? Mac OS X Tiger All in One is all you need to become a fluent Mac user.

John Ray is an award-winning developer and security consultant with more than 17 years of programming and administration experience. He has worked on projects for the FCC, the National Regulatory Research Institute, The Ohio State University, Xerox, and the State of Florida. He has written or contributed to more than 10 books currently in print, including Mac OS X Unleashed, Special Edition Using TCP/IP, Sams Teach Yourself Dreamweaver MX Application Development in 21 Days, and Maximum Mac OS X Security. He bought his first Macintosh in 1984 and remains a strong proponent for the computer and operating system that revolutionized the industry. Robyn Ness holds a master's degree in psychology with a specialization in judgment and decision making from The Ohio State University. She currently works as a web developer, focusing on issues of usability and content design. In her spare time she tests the bounds of iPhoto by taking a ridiculous number of digital photographs, the best of which can be seen at http://www.floraphotographs.com.
