It will serve as an ideal text for senior undergraduates, and graduate students in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer engineering, and information technology.
Jieh-Ren Chang earned his BS and MS degrees in nuclear science engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. He is currently a professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, National Ilan University (NIU), Taiwan. He is the Dean of the Library and Information Center and leads the Intelligent Information Retrieval Laboratory at NIU. Prior to joining NIU, he worked as a technician at the Missile Manufacturing Institute of the Sun Yat-sen Academy of Sciences under the Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan. He has also worked for System Studies & Simulation, Inc., a real-time simulation company in the USA. He has created several software systems for different government organizations and industrial companies. His current research interests are in image processing, knowledge discovery from databases and the Internet, machine deep learning and data mining, embedded systems, AIOT systems in industrial manufacturing processes, and innovative combinations of information and communication technologies. Abhishek Sharma earned his B.E, in Electronics Engineering from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India, and Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy. He is presently working as an associate professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at The LNM Institute of Information and Technology, Jaipur, RJ, India. He is also a member of IEEE, Computer Society, and Consumer Electronics Society, a Lifetime member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), a Lifetime member of Advanced Computing Society (ACS), India, and a Life Member of Computer Society of India (CSI). He is also the coordinator of the Texas Instruments Lab, and Intel Intelligent Lab in the present Institute. He is also the center lead of the LNMIIT-Centre of Smart Technology (L-CST). He has authored and edited books, his research work is published in reputed conferences and journals. His current research interests are Real-Time Systems, Embedded Systems, Computer Vision, and IoT. Sulabh Bansal is an associate professor at Manipal University, Jaipur. He has 22 years experience in the field of information technology and computer science, working on software application development, and research and academic projects. He earned his BEng from Shivaji University Kolhapur in 2000, going on to complete an MTech in 2012 and a PhD in algorithms for optimization problems at Dayalbagh Educational Institute in 2017. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery India Council. He has published several research papers in SCIand Scopus-indexed journals, presented his work at different international conferences, and delivered keynote addresses at various national and international academic events. He has supervised a number of BTech and MTech projects, and PhD students. His research interests include evolutionary algorithms, optimization problems, quantum-inspired computing, and machine learning. Prakash Chandra Sharma is an associate professor in the School of Information Technology at Manipal University, Jaipur, India. He earned his Master of Engineering in computer engineering from SGSITS Indore, and his PhD in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore. He has more than 16 years’ teaching and research experience in various areas of computer science and engineering. His research interests include graph theory, theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence, image processing and soft computing. He has taught many subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including data structures and algorithms, theory of computation, operating systems, compiler design, artificial intelligence, semantic web, graph theory, soft computing, and discrete mathematics.He has published a number of book chapters, as well as research papers in various SCI/Scopus-indexed international journals and in proceedings of national and international conferences. He is an active reviewer and editorial member of various reputed international journals in his research areas. He is a member of various international professional associations, including IEEE, CSI, IAENG, and the Institute of Engineers India. He has received many national awards.
