Andree Woodcock is a Professor of Educational Ergonomics and Design at Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Coventry University UK. She completed her BSc in Psychology and Social Biology from University of London, UK; MSc in Ergonomics from UCL, UK; and PhD in ergonomics from Loughborough University, UK. With her background in ergonomics she has always forwarded the needs of transport users , especially those experiencing transport poverty. H2020 TInnGO involved some members of the SUITS consortium focussing on gender and transport.
Janet Saunders is an academic researcher and specialist in user research and user centered design, splitting her time between research roles and consultancy. She has a background in ergonomics, social sciences, business analysis, and user research and has worked extensively in the IT industry, both in the private and public sectors. She has carried out senior research roles with Coventry University, UK: including the DDRI Living Lab project, developing research ethics for co-creation in a Living Lab and the ErgoWork project, an EU project about people with disabilities in the workplace. She was Research Fellow with the SUITS project and more recently was a Researcher for the TInnGO (Transport Innovation Gender Observatory) project, carrying out many aspects of qualitative research and design.
This book is conceptualized as being of interest to researchers in the field of sustainable transport, and also those who are working in the field. In the first case it will provide a reference on the state of the art of sustainable transport, and will also include insights into an EU project, how to go about delivering impact, how such projects effect local authorities, etc. Sustainable transport is an extreme growth area; it is highly innovative, with multi-million-pound investments transforming cities. The book will help and encourage resource poor small to medium local authorities catch up and meet their sustainability targets.
