The book summarizes research work on the Wajid Sandstone, which provides integrated field and laboratory data to enable a detailed description of this unit including a facies analysis, porosity data, as well as permeability data to establish aquifer models. Detailed facies analysis at outcrop scale are supported by vertical and lateral sedimentological sections, facies and environmental analysis and supplemented by detailed laboratory petrographical and petrophysical data. The analysis and interpretation of the outcrop analog models include the reconstruction of the stratigraphic architecture at outcrop scale. Moreover, the results were described statistically, analyzed and eventually establish an outcrop-based aquifer model analogue. The book benefits undergraduate, graduate and researchers working on applied sedimentological studies, hydrogeology, statistical and geostatistical analysis and modeling.

?Dr. Osman Abdullatif is a university professor with more than 30 years of experience in academia, research, and consultancy at the University of Khartoum, Sudan and KFUPM, Saudi Arabia. He received his B.Sc. degree from Khartoum, M.Sc. University of London and Ph.D. Degree from Khartoum University. The teaching and research areas of interest include Geology, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy Basin Analysis, Clastic Depositional System, Petroleum Geology, Paleozoic, Mesozoic Cenozoic Sandstones, and carbonates in Saudi Arabia. These involved looking at facies, paleoenvironment, and depositional models. I conducted many internally and externally sponsored funded projects.   Executed consultancy contracts for many companies, including Greater Nile Petroleum, Talisman Energy, Ministry of Energy and Mining Sudan, RI-Saudi Aramco, Luksar, and Sinogas,  and Engineering Technical Services, Dammam (ETS). Profile Overview Osman Abdullatif Google Scholar, Osman Abdullatif at Academia.edu.

Dr. Mohammad Makkawi is an Associate university professor at the Geosciences Department, KFUPM, with 30+ years of experience in consultancy, academia, and research. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from KFUPM and his Ph.D. degree from Civil Engineering (Groundwater & Environmental Eng.), Colorado State University, USA. His research interest includes Hydrogeology and Geostatistical & Computational Applications. Interested in technology transfer & development. A hydrogeologist and numerical & geostatistical modeler by training. Presented professional training programs and led several projects that served the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Saudi ARAMCO, SABIC Petrochemicals, Ma'aden Mining Co., Saudi Geological Survey, Worley Parsons, Fluor Arabia Ltd., and Alcoa.

Dr. Mohamed Yassin is a Research Scientist-III in the IRC-Membranes and Water Security, Research Institute (RI), King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He received his B.Sc. degree (2002) from Khartoum University, Sudan, and his M.Sc. (2012) and Ph.D. degrees (2017) from KFUPM, Saudi Arabia, all in Geology. Expert in Geo-Cellular static Modeling, Discrete Fracture Network Modeling (DFN), aquifer Characterization, and water optimization. Yassin has a strong background in statistical analysis, geostatistics, mapping, data integration, and water simulation. His main interests are groundwater resource assessment, protection, management, simulation, and optimization and modeling technology using GRACE-InSAR Satellite data.
