This book contains selected articles presented at the 19th International Conference on Global Research and Education, organized by the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in Gomel, Belarus, Octoter 20-22, 2021. The areas of focus of the book are modern areas of physics and technology, as well as methods and materials of e-learning and online education. It covers areas as plasma physics, bioengineering, solid state physics, nanoelectronics, photonics, environmental design, compositional structures and metamaterials, robotics and metrology, computer physics, online education and e-learning.



Sergei Khakhomov graduated from Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in 1991 with a degree in Physics. After completing postgraduate studies Sergei A. Khakhomov has been working at Gomel State University: in 1995 - became an Assistant of the Department of General Physics, in 1997 - took up a Senior Lecturer, in 1998 - became an Associate Professor, from 2003 to 2009 - Head of the Department of Optics, from 2009 to 2010 - Dean of the Faculty of Physics, from 2010 to 2014 - Vice-rector for academic affairs, from September 2014 to June 2016 - First Vice-rector. Since June 15, 2016 - Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and since May 2018 - Professor of Department of Optics. He earned a PhD in Physics and Mathematics in 1997 at the Belarusian State University in Minsk. In 2018, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (Higher Doctorate) at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk. He was an executive and a supervisor of more than 20 international projects. Sergei Khakhomov is a scientific supervisor of one PhD student and an author of more than 340 scientific and scientific-methodical works, including 3 monographs, 15 chapters in books, 25 educational-methodical and reference books, over 90 scientific articles in journals, more than 80 scientific and methodical articles in conference proceedings, 8 patents.

 

 

Igor Semchenko graduated from Gomel State University in 1981 with a degree in Physics. He earned a PhD in Physics and Mathematics in 1984 at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk. In 1997, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (Higher Doctorate) at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk. In 1999, he got a Full Professor at the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk.  He is a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. His research interests are focused on the field of electrodynamics of artificial anisotropic structures and metamaterials. Professor Semchenko was a scientific supervisor of six PhD students and one Doctor of Science. He was a supervisor of more than 25 international scientific projects. He is a coauthor of more than 350 scientific papers. His works include 4 monographs, 13 chapters in collective monographs, more than 110 articles in journals, more than 120 articles in conference proceedings, 9 patents, 5 preprints, as well as 60 abstracts.

Oleg Demidenko graduated from Gomel State University in 1982 with a major in 'Organization of mechanized processing of economic information.' In 1991, he completed a PhD course at Moscow Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers and defended the thesis 'Development of methods and means of analyzing processes of functioning of informational and calculating networks.' In 2004, he defended a doctoral thesis (Higher Doctorate) 'Techniques and means of research and adapting a calculating process to operating load of a local area network' at Belarusian State University. In 2004, he was awarded a Full Professor. He worked as the Head of Department of Automated Systems of Data Processing for 14 years. Since 2007, he has been the Vice-rector for research of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Oleg Demidenko is a scientific supervisor of six PhD students and an author of 6 monographs and more than 150 scientific publications. 

Dmitry Kovalenko, PhD, is an Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and IT, and Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of Advanced Materials of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. He has been engaged in scientific work since 1997. Currently, the area of ??scientific interests of Dmitry Kovalenko includes the development of thin-film materials by the sol-gel method for use in optics and microelectronics. He is a scientific supervisor in the state research programs 'Photonics, optoelectronics and microelectronics,' 'Physical materials science, new materials and technologies.' He was invited to carry out collaborative research at the Institute of Low Temperatures and Structural Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Wroclaw, Poland), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Iasi, Romania), the University of Palermo (Palermo, Italy), the University of Aveiro (Aveiro, Portugal), etc.
