Dr. Thomas Sonnabend is currently in his 17th year teaching mathematics at Montgomery College. He has done in-service work with elementary school teachers and has taught grades five and nine-twelve in New York City. Having published over 23 book reviews in the MATHEMATICS TEACHER, two articles "Calculus Reform: An Interview with Tom Sonnabend" and "Cooperative Learning in Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers," as well as the previous editions of MATHEMATICS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS. Dr. Sonnabend is a trusted and well-established academic and was named the Maryland College Teacher of the Year for 2001 by the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics. He was also listed in the 1996 edition of MEN OF ACHIEVEMENT.
