Tripathy is an officer of the Indian Economic Service (IES), Government of India. He has published around 70 research articles and has attended several international and national conferences. His main areas of research are rural development, microfinance and agriculture. Dr. Vidya Kumbhar is an Assistant Professor at the Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics, Pune, India.
