He regularly conducts executive briefings, business discovery workshops, and technology architecture sessions with many of North America's most leading-edge companies across a variety of industries and with government agencies. Bob has spoken at numerous industry conferences internationally, served as a guest instructor at various universities, and is an author of several books, including Remaining Relevant in Your Tech Career (Apress), Big Data and the Internet of Things (Apress), Oracle Big Data Handbook, and Oracle Essentials. He joined Microsoft in May 2016 after a 20-year career at Oracle where he was most recently Executive Director of Big Data.
