This version includes both the textbook and LaunchPad Access.
Introduction to the Practice of Statistics shows students how to produce and interpret data from real-world contexts, guiding them through the same type of data gathering and analysis that working statisticians do every day. With this phenomenally successful approach originally developed by David Moore and George McCabe, statistics is more than just a collection of techniques and formulas. Instead, students develop a systematic way of thinking about data, with a focus on problem-solving that helps them understand statistical concepts and master statistical reasoning. With the LaunchPad version of the textbook, both the print and online resource are combined, putting powerful statistical tools and interactive learning features in students’ hands.

David S. Moore is Shanti S. Gupta Distinguished Professor of Statistics, Emeritus, at Purdue University and was 1998 president of the American Statistical Association. George P. McCabe is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Science and a Professor of Statistics at Purdue University. In 1966, he received a B.S. degree in mathematics from Providence College, and in 1970 a Ph.D. in mathematical statistics from Columbia University.
