Advanced Typography
Bloomsbury Visual Arts (Verlag)
978-1-350-05591-9 (ISBN)
Taking a practical approach, the book combines visual, linguistic, historical and psychological systems with the broad range of applications and audiences of type today.
From the challenges of designing across media and cultures, to type as information and craft, Hunt marries theoretical context with applied examples so you feel confident in improving your skills as an advanced typographer.
Richard Hunt has practiced typography for over 35 years, first supplying type to designers, and then with the advent of the desktop computer, acted as a consultant to many design firms and other institutions across North America, including Bruce Mau Design, Zone Books, Rizzoli, KPMB Architects, Rhode Island School of Design and the Getty Research Institute. He teaches at OCAD University, Canada (formerly the Ontario College of Art and Design) where he lectures on the history of typography and teaches studio typography classes and typeface design.
