The books in the Pythagoras In the Corner series follow the themes of the good, the bad and the ugly across a whole range of volumes.

In Part One of this book we will go back to the basics. The first few chapters consider the main building materials. These are wood, stone, steel, concrete and glass. The physical aspects of these materials will be considered, before finishing with some incredible buildings that use the materials to a new level. Another subject included in Part One of the book is Chemistry, in both good and bad forms. This subject will crop up throughout the whole series of books. The last chapter in Part One of the book considers the subject of archaeology, it is only by understanding the mistakes of the past that can we look forward to the future.

In Part Two of this book, the first few chapters look in detail at the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, which I briefly mentioned in the previous volume. I have extended this subject of Wonders to include the Wonders of the Modern World and Natural Wonders. Other subjects include Spatial Mathematics, Insect Attack and Ways and Waves of communication. I will let the reader find out for themselves.

I hope this book is a fascinating read, as I have tried to show how the natural beauty of the world can co-exist alongside the world that we have created.
