Apart from teaching, he has guided several B.Tech (CSE) and M.Tech (CA/CSE) projects, and executed external funded R&D projects. His main research interests include cryptography, computer networks with security, VLSI designs, and additive cellular automata.
Dr. Sushanta Mukhopadhyay, Associate Professor, had joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in 2007 as an Assistant Professor. He did B.Sc. with Honours in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, B.Tech and subsequently, M.Tech in Radiophysics and Electronics from the University of Calcutta, India. He did Ph.D. from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta. During 2001-2003 and 2004-2007, he worked at the Sanford Burnham Medical Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA and the Nanyang Technological University Singapore, respectively. His research areas and interests include mage and video processing, fMRI, image/video compression, encryption and watermarking. He has published a few articles in International Journals and guided M.Tech and PhD students.
The book is based on the research papers presented in Second International Conference on Recent Advances in Information Technology (RAIT 2014), held at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India. It provides the latest developments in the area of information technology and covers a variety of topics, including Advanced Algorithm Design and Analysis, Algorithmic Graph Theory, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Circuit Design Automation, Computational Biology, Computational Mathematics, Cryptology, Data Compression, Database Management System, Data Mining, E-Applications, Embedded System, Information and Network Security, Information Retrieval, Internet Computing, etc. The objective is to familiarize the reader with the latest scientific developments that are taking place in various fields and the latest sophisticated problem solving tools that are being developed to deal with the complex and intricate problems that are otherwise difficult to solve by the usual and traditional methods.
