Cardiovascular Flow Modelling and Measurement with Application to Clinical Medicine
Oxford University Press (Verlag)
978-0-19-850520-4 (ISBN)
This book is collection of papers on the main topics of cardiovascular modelling and measurements. Some of the results show how to calculate many non-linear aspects of fluid flow and the turbulence in the arteries and the bifurcation junctions of the cardiovascular system. There are three themes to the papers: first, the fundamental concepts of fluid dynamics and turbulence in the system; the second theme is the flow modelling in arteries and bypass graft; the third section is about haemorheology and haemodynamics and explores the factors that play a role in coronary circulation using data from patients with ischaemic heart disease and acute myocardial infarction.
Boundary conditions and the attenuation of waves in deformable tubes ; Study of flow stability using direct numerical simulation of the disturbance equations ; Turbulent flow in an arterial stenosis ; Study of Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluid flow in a channel with a moving indentation ; Platelet deposition in stagnation point flow: an analytical study and computational simulation ; Fluid dynamics in 3-D models of cavopulmonary connection with an extracardiac lateral conduit modelling of flow transport in arteries ; The application of computational fluid dynamics and solid mechanics to haemodynamics in arterial organs and to related problems ; Experimental and computational modelling of flow through an arterial bypass graft ; Modelling of cerebral autoregulation experiments in humans ; The numerical investigation of a novel haemodynamic control device which reduces the development of occlusive arterial intimal hyperplasia ; Hemorheology and hemodynamics: a complex approach to the coronary circulation and development of myocardial ischemia ; Heorgeological alterations after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty ; Hemorgeological alterations after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty ; Rouleaux formation: its causes and consequences ; Characterisation of monocytes by filtration of undiluted blood
