This volume contains the proceedings of the Seventh Workshop in Lie Theory and Its Applications, which was held November 27-December 1, 2009 at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, in Cordoba, Argentina. The workshop was preceded by a special event, “Encuentro de teoria de Lie”, held November 23-26, 2009, in honour of the sixtieth birthday of Jorge A. Vargas, who greatly contributed to the development of Lie theory in Cordoba.
