achieve the unique motion picture look and the effects
which have not been possible with standard digital video
equipment. The book takes the reader all the way from
mastering video concepts, specific video features of
their DSLRs, and equipment needed to shoot video, to
understanding the restrictions, problems, and pitfalls of
shooting video with a DSLR. Using an easy to follow
approach of introducing concepts, thoroughly explaining
the process of shooting video, and finally presenting
step-by-step projects that take the reader from capture
to editing. Examples and other useful materials and video
clips can be found on the DVD that comes with the book.

Designer, journalist, and imaging expert Helmut Kraus is based in D sseldorf, Germany. As an author of numerous magazine articles and reference books, he has been closely watching the development of digital communication and production tools since their beginnings. His work focuses on the progressing evolution of visual techniques, especially the effects of digital photography and digital imaging on graphic design. Uwe Steinmueller, a native of Germany, has been a photographer since 1973. His first exhibitions were in 1978 in Bremen, Germany with photos from Venice, South Tirol, Germany, and France. He shares a joint copyright with his wife Bettina. Uwe moved to California in 1997 and began working seriously in digital photography in 1999. He currently lives and works in San Jose. He has written a number of books, two of which won the prestigious, German "Fotobuchpreis" award two years in a row, in 2004 and 2005. Uwe is the man behind outbackphoto.com, a popular website covering quality outdoor photography using digital cameras.
