Adolescents' Online Literacies
Adolescents’ Online Literacies: Connecting Classrooms, Digital Media, and Popular Culture is a compilation of new work that makes concrete connections between what the research literature portrays and what teachers, school librarians, and media specialists know to be the case in their own situations. The authors (educators and researchers who span three continents) focus on ways to incorporate and use the digital literacies that young people bring to school.

The Editor: Donna E. Alvermann is the University of Georgia Appointed Distinguished Research Professor of Language and Literacy Education. Formerly a classroom teacher in Texas and New York, her research focuses on young people’s media literacies and popular culture in both classroom and digital environments. Her books include Adolescents and Literacies in a Digital World and Reconceptualizing the Literacies in Adolescents’ Lives (2nd ed.). She was elected to the Reading Hall of Fame in 1999.
