Mikie Heaton-Ellis was one of the most promising young jockeys of his generation. Then in the 1981 National Hunt Stepplechase at Huntingdon he fell and broke his back. Wheel-chair bound he continued to pursue his passion for horses and now runs Barbury Castle Racing Stables where he has had 100 winners. Early in the morning each day he inspects and instructs the finest in British horses, and yet he will never ride again.
