I remember

28 short stories, drawings and watercolours from an English author and painter who ran a hotel at lake Sarnen in Central Switzerland for five decades. His 'trophies snatched from the darkness' about characters in hotel business or from the village are witty and unique, his landscapes, views and houses are beautiful. Then again: "As much as I would like to claim that Wilen is populated exclusively by angels great and small, there are inevitably a few people from time to time who have thoughts and intentions that are, shall we say, less than Christian. I must mention that some angels are less angelic than others. However, I never suspected that there would be a night in Wilen when I would encounter the devil. But I don't think I was wrong: I met "Old Nick" in person ..."
