Frank Saunders Jr, Ph.D. (2019), is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese Literature at Hong Kong Chu Hai college. He regularly publishes on early Chinese philosophy, specifically Confucianism and Daoism, and has translated several Chinese-English academic works. Richard J. Sage, Ph.D. (2022), is Senior Research Assistant at the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, Hong Kong Baptist University. His main research interests lie within Chinese intellectual history and the history and philosophy of religion, with a special focus on early Daoist and Buddhist texts and their exegetical traditions. His most recent publications in T’oung Pao 109.5-6 and Asia Major 36.2 center on the political instrumentalization of Daoist commentaries during the Northern Song period.
