t was freezing where I was
The cold kept knocking me down
I lay there on the ground
My heart still beating
But my body numb
Would I ever be able to feel again?
- Winter Season

A collection of poetry about pain, depression, trauma, and anger.
But also about love, happiness, forgiveness and hope.

Leyla Çete is a young writer, an artist and a fanatic reader of fiction books. A girl who has always been in love with books, fantasising herself through life. She started writing from a young age and wrote a lot of fiction during her high school time. After a few years of not writing anymore and losing her passion, at the age of 17, Leyla suddenly became very ill and has been dealing with an unknown chronic invisible disability ever since. Leyla felt left out in life and scared of what her future might bring because of this disability. This was the moment she found her passion again. Writing stories and letters to herself and her future so that if she will read them years from now, in the future, those letters and stories may find her well. She stumbled upon stage performing and started to perform her poetry and spoken word on stage, sharing her words with the world. The love of writing a book grew over the years, she knew that these words had to be documented and she wanted to reach many people's hearts when they needed it the most. Something that wasn't erasable, something permanent. At that, her first book, Winter Season, came into existence. At the moment, Leyla is living in her hometown, Amsterdam. Travelling the world, living day by day, seeing what new adventures life might offer her and busy writing her next book.
