Constellations consists of 88 sequences of poems based upon the myths and histories of the celestial constellations, as derived from the International Astronomical Union. The sequences include a prose poem, which has words and punctuation erased, revealing a new poem. This new poem also goes through the process of erasure, until the words remaining reflect the constellation shape, as it appears in the sky. It is a striking collection of blackout or erasure poetry. Constellations is printed on black paper, and includes beautiful star maps from the IAU. The digital copy is also framed using black pages. The theoretical components of Constellations were explored in Deanne's PhD Thesis, A Space in Time That's Filled with Moving.
