Poems by Patricia Pool, intensive and full of life.
Numbers
There are a few numbers
written with a soft pencil
on some parts of the paper
lying on my desk.
I tried
to rub them out
because I wanted to do
a drawing.
But my rubber
was blunt
and irritated my eyes
with some lines
it created between
the numbers.
The rule may be
a rulers development
and a houses housing.
Worlds never change,
they wane,
fade, get lost.
Irretrievably.
