Songs from the Wind -

The poems in this book are published in the poet's native language and American English. The collection's theme is wind: The wind is one of the classic four elements, meaning comprehensive movement. It gives us the feeling of space and shows us life's core. For poets, the wind doesn't just mean an element but opens spaces for metaphorical excursions, like in one line of the lovely song "Wind of Change" by The Scorpions when they sing: "The wind of change blows straight into the face of time."This collection features 60 poets from 22 countries and four continents, giving us the idea of the songs from the wind.

Gino Leineweber was born in 1944 and has been working as a poet, writer, and translator since 1998. He lives in Vietri sul Mare, Italy, and Hamburg, Germany. He led the Hamburg Authors' Association for twelve years and was appointed honorary chairman in 2015. In between, he was the editor of Buddhist Monthly Magazine (Buddhistische Monatsblätter) for six years. From 2013 to 2020, he was president of the Three Seas Writers' and Translators' Council, based in Rhodes, Greece. He is currently a board member of the PEN Center German-Speaking Authors Abroad (formerly German Exile PEN). He is publishing non-fiction (travel writing and biographies) and poetry, which has won numerous international awards. He writes in German and American English; since 2016, he has translated prose and poetry from English.
