Kes Otter Lieffe ist Autorin und in den Bereichen queere Ökologie und Community-organising aktiv. Sie hostet den Podcast „Margins and Murmurations“, der die Themen dieses Buches aufgreift und vertieft. Neben der Science-Fiction-Trilogie hat Kes auf Englisch noch mehrere Kurzgeschichten und Ausmalbücher veröffentlicht, u. a. zu Queerness unter Pflanzen und Tieren. Sie schreibt aus einer chronisch kranken, transfemininen und Arbeiter*innenklasse-Perspektive und lebt im Berliner Umland.
