This is book # 3 in the ongoing Desert Store Series. Bud Spinner, a reclusive garage owner, helps Map Girl and Geena escape Ardenville with cash and a map. Bud secretly writes car manuals. He becomes friends with two other psychic, shy recluses named Ben and Andy living in Ardenville. Meanwhile, Bud fixes cars, Ben reads sci-fi, and Andy fishes. Unbeknownst to them, they all have psychic abilities. Feeling overwhelmed by life, they buy a cabin hideaway. However, a private eye named Dan forces them to flee across the country to find Map Girl. In New Mexico, they encounter William the Dude, another psychic, who dubs them "e;The Three Magi."e; William protects the three shy, gentle bachelors and finds them new home in a remote monastery in Oregon. They are making plans to spend Christmas with Map Girl in New Mexico at the Desert Store when she arrives at the monastery, changing their plans. This book is filled with acts of gentle kindness and a persuasion to live life fully.
