Anthony Hope, born Anthony Hope Hawkins on February 9, 1863, in London, England, is perhaps best remembered for his adventure novel 'The Prisoner of Zenda,' which has become a classic of its genre. While not as widely renowned as 'Zenda' and its sequel 'Rupert of Hentzau,' 'The Secret of the Tower' nonetheless provides a splendid example of Hope's narrative charm and reflects his fascination with intrigue.
