Evil and uncanny things are all around, and in sheer self-defence, most people learn not to see. Fortunately, a few people can deal with the truth. From San Francisco to the Amazonian rain forest, an uncanny group of adventurers fight against the Incumbents. In a milieu where thaumaturgy is a laboratory science, and raw pain can be kept in a flask of liquid nitrogen, this motley band of alchemists, thaumaturgists, and totemists have to save a world that doesn't know it's under attack by forces beyond comprehension.
