DEAR HEARTBREAKERS

Vivien Kis
This book explores the human soul with crude honesty and emotionalism, putting the fragile, and often terrifying, human mind under the magnifying glass. Vivien Kis carefully scrutinizes love with vivid imagery and dark metaphors like a modern Sylvia Plath. The author centers her poems around the emotion most confining to human nature - fear. Fear and love are deeply intertwined and most of the time cannot peacefully coexist. The author's main goal is to encourage people through her writing to not be afraid of feeling their feelings. You are always stronger than you think.

Vivien Kis was born in Hungary and grew up in Germany. Later on, she received a scholarship to pursue her degree in Economics at the University of the South in the US. After graduation, she has lived in Prague, Rome, Dubai and Bali. She wrote her first poem when she was fifteen years old and has won numerous awards and prizes for her poetry such as the Daniil Pashkoff Prize and the Dream Quest One Competition. This collection of poems was written in 2015 in the city of Rome where she became inspired by the sudden disappearance of a loved one and by the timeless beauty of the Eternal City. Her work takes a very honest view on love, loss, trauma and most importantly - pain. With this poetry collection, the author invites the readers to set out on a journey of healing. Using the power of candid words, she wanted to present the raw and yet beautiful side of pain and how it is necessary to accept it in order to process our emotional wounds. In addition to writing poetry, the author also owns a headhunting agency and an e-commerce beauty business.
