With a couple of weeks' unexpected holiday and no chance of going away, journalist Jane Shilling decided to pursue a childhood ambition and learn to ride. A teacher, Mrs Rogers, was easy to find. What she hadn't reckoned on was that Mrs Rogers was also a Master of Foxhounds. So began Jane Shilling's love for hunting, and an "odd, late-blooming affair". More than a book about about fox-hunting, it is about finding yourself through developing a passion for something in mid-life, when it feels like it's almost too late.
