PROLOGUE:
THE FALL OF THE MORNING STAR

“The sons created from fire bow down to the sons of clay? Are the first created to serve those created to be inferior?” Lucifer asked the horde of angels amassed before him. The renegade angels stood with Lucifer at the edge of the great plain that lay outside the walls surrounding the first world of heaven. Beyond the walls, was his destiny, control of heaven and earth. The Great Golden Temple housed the throne of God. He needed only to sit upon it, and that control would be his. His destiny would be achieved. Why else had he been given free will?

Lucifer was joined by his two angelic generals , Marchosias and Nithael. Together they stood in front of the battle formations, that now boasted 1,333,333 angels, one third of the host of heaven. Marchosias spoke to the army of angels first.

“Brothers!, we stand before the greatest gift of all, Lucifer, the first angel! He was created to lead this army and take control of Heaven! Why else would the creator order such a ridiculous command, `Man is to be worshipped by the angels.’ Did he not know we would rebel? The creator wants his sons to take control! Heaven and Earth will be ours! Prepare for victory!” The army thrust their flaming swords to the sky and cheered. Heaven trembled.

“My brothers, although we are out-numbered two to one, the advantage is ours! Our cause is more just! Ours is the true plan of the creator! Do not fear the searing pain of death! Lucifer will resurrect you at the dawn in the light of the Morning Star!”, roared Nithael.

“The first created will never bow down to man! NEVER!” Lucifer swore, rallying his army of renegades. He held his flaming sword in his left hand and raised it to Heaven’s sky. An ethereal light reflected off his blade and cascaded the angelic horde in an invigorating golden aura. They began to glow, and took it as a sign of triumph. They raised their swords and cheered, ”FOR LUCIFER!” Heaven shook once more.

Lucifer turned and looked across the great plain. Its fields were already littered with dead and dying angels. Some of them belonged to him, but most were loyal to the creator. He smiled. Heaven would soon be his, he thought. A flash of light on the horizon of the battlefield caught his attention. It was the Archangel Michael wearing his golden armor, leading God’s forces onto the plain dressed for the final battle. Lucifer’s top lip quivered as he scowled at his brother from across the grassy divide. For the control of Heaven and Earth, ”Michael will fall!”, Lucifer swore silently to himself.

The mighty Archangel Michael stood before the gates of Heaven’s first city, ready to battle his misguided brothers and deny them of everything except death. The Archangel Gabriel stood high upon the wall with his mighty trumpet, awaiting Michael’s command. Metatron, the voice of God, was silently standing next to Gabriel. God had no more words for the insolent. All he had left for Lucifer and his horde, was Michael.

Michael faced God’s army and raised his fiery sword ,shouting, ”FOR GOD!” The angels loyal to God, their creator and father, drew their swords and let loose a thunderous war cry. Michael turned toward his brother, Lucifer and spread his mighty wings. Gabriel’s trumpet blared as Michael, followed by the remaining 2,666,666 angels, took flight toward the scourge of God. Heaven shook for the third time.

“FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH!”, Lucifer bellowed and flew skyward, leading his army to their destruction and eternal damnation. The air was filled with the sound of thunder, as angel wings beat in rapid succession, accelerating the two great armies toward each other. Gabriel wept for his brothers, Michael and Lucifer both. A final sound of thunder was heard throughout Heaven as the two armies collided in mid-air above the ethereal plain. The first true battle of good and evil had begun.

The battle lasted for what seemed an eternity, angel’s blood and battered bodies sprawled on the field, but the war was over before it began. Lucifer’s army had been stopped. They were lying , either dead or defeated, at the feet of God’s Glorious Angelic Army. Michael stood triumphantly over Lucifer and lifted his eyes to the sky. The black clouds that had darkened the sky began to part, yielding to the brilliant white light that was pouring over the battlefield. The angels who were loyal to God, and had fallen in battle against Lucifer and his minions, arose alive and whole. They were reborn in the name of God. Metatron spoke the last message from God that Lucifer would ever hear.

“I CAST YOU OUT!”, Metatron boomed.

The ground beneath Lucifer and his army became as water, and they sank through the veil that separates Heaven and Earth. Forever damned. There was a great wailing as falling angels plummeted from Heaven. Another loud rumbling was heard. This time the Earth shook, as the fallen angels separated into three tribes and were dispersed to different lands.

The tribe of man that inhabited the Nile delta had barely evolved past being apes. They had managed to construct and use crude tools, but their primitive minds had not yet developed the ability for profound thinking. So when they saw the beautiful lights slowly descend to the earth above them, they watched in awe. The warm night sky ,of what would be later called Egypt, was offering a gift. The gift was food. They grabbed their wooden clubs and spears, anticipating killing off anything that the fall did not. Had their minds been a bit more evolved, they would have known that solid objects falling from the sky do not gradually float down and gently come to rest upon the ground. With the exception of feathers.

A large man/ape, who claimed leadership over the large tribe of thirty thousand, approached the fallen angel named Orus. Orus was sprawled out on the ground , lying on his side, moaning, and his large gray, feathery wings on the ground behind him. The shoulder length blonde hair of the angel was matted to his head with dry blood. The man/ape leader poked Orus in the thigh with his long wooden spear that had a sharpened heavy stone point attached to it. The angel awoke and let out a loud shriek of pain and fear. The rest of the fallen were awoken by their brother’s scream and commenced to do what the fallen do best. Lucifer gave orders to slay the primitives and in less than two minutes, thirty thousand man/apes were decimated by angel fire. Burnt to the very dust from whence they came, bones and all.

“What do we do now, Lucifer?, asked Asmodeus,an angel who served in the same order of seraphim as Lucifer.

“DO? WE will DO what we want to do.”, said Lucifer to the angels as they began to gather around him. For the first time in his existence, Lucifer did not have a plan . He looked up at the star filled sky and it came to him in an instant.

“Brothers and sisters, we are the fallen. My vanity has caused us the loss of paradise, but even now, I would not bow down to man. We will build our own paradise here on earth. In each of us, there lies a fragment of the creator’s science. We will use it to become the masters of this world and create heaven on earth.”, Lucifer said and began to unfurl his plan to his faithful renegades.

His plan was simple. Enslave humanity. Make man fear the angels more than God. Make man build the new paradise for the angels. Of course, humankind was not intelligent enough to follow Lucifer’s blue print for civilization, so he was going to have to jump-start their evolution a bit. First, he was going to need a population of man/apes to teach. He slightly regretted destroying the tribe of thirty thousand. Only slightly. He still had an army of four hundred forty four thousand four hundred and forty four angels at his command which he sent them forth to capture and bring back as many man/apes as they could find. Humankind’s education and servitude was about to begin.

One power that angels had mastered was conscience displacement. Simply explained, it was the ability to remove the conscience of man, enter the body and teach the human brain how to reason. When the conscience was returned to the body, it became aware and learned. Of course, Lucifer liked to transfer the “student” into a wounded or dying animal, it ensured that the lesson was learned with enthusiasm. If it was found that a man/ape was unable to learn from the first lesson, there was not a second. It was killed as an example to the others not to be stupid. This exhausted the angel’s patience to no end. However, after a century of instruction, man/ape finally became man.

Among the fallen tribe of Lucifer’s angel was a lesser order of angels, known as Grigori, the watcher angels. Their job in heaven was to watch and keep record of man’s progress. Their principle sin was teaching the daughters of man how to beautify themselves. They taught man about lust . However, they too were lustful for the daughters of man, and committed an act that even Lucifer forbade. When the daughters of man conceived a child with an angel, they were as good as dead. The child would grow inside the womb at an extremely accelerated pace, coming full term in a matter of days. At the end of three weeks, a full-grown Nephalim was born. Creature that was half man and half angel. The mother was never able to survive giving birth to them. Lucifer had forbidden the mating of angels and humankind. He hated wasting valuable resources, and the women of the species were valuable. He used them to motivate the men and to increase population.
