This is the autobiography of tennis superstar, Monica Seles. It describes her rise to the peak of her profession and how she was devastated by a brutal stabbing but fought against injury and depression to play again.
At only 17, Monica Seles became the number one female tennis player in the world. As she won championship after championship, leaving established stars in her wake, it seemed that nothing could stop her. Nothing, but a nine-inch knife wielded by a crazed fan of Steffi Graff. The vicious attack had a profound and lasting attack on Seles. After it, and the second blow of her father's cancer that was discovered only days later, Monica retreated from the spotlight and became a virtual recluse. In this biography, she describes the terrifying downward spiral of her emotions - her fear, vulnerability and depression, and how she struggled to regain her health, self-confidence and drive.
