Present day. Liverpool. All alone, an old man falls in a basement and loses consciousness.

World War II. Norway. A young sailor with a heart full of hope, longing and courage falls in love.

A Liverpudlian man and a Norwegian woman are pulled together and torn apart by war as the events of one summer cause ripples across an ocean of time.

A play with songs, Narvik by Lizzie Nunnery premiered at the Liverpool Playhouse Studio in September 2015 in a Box of Tricks production and was revived for a UK tour in January 2017.

Narvik won Best New Play in the 2017 UK Theatre Awards.

Lizzie is an award-winning playwright. Her work includes, The Swallowing Dark, which was produced by the Liverpool Everyman and Theatre 503 and was a finalist for The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize; Intemperance, produced by the Everyman, Unprotected, which was awarded the Amnesty International Award for Freedom of Expression and a musical Narvik which was described as a "thrillingly enigmatic memory play" by the Guardian. Narvik toured the UK in 2017. The Sum, an adaption of her radio play of the same name, was part of the Everyman Company's inaugural season. Lizzie writes extensively for radio and has penned numerous original dramas and adaptations for Radio 4. She is also a singer-songwriter.
