It includes: a concise history of the editing of Shakespeare; a statement of the principles behind the editing of The Complete Oxford Shakespeare ; a discussion of the textual issues facing the editor of each work; an Introduction and textual notes for each work; a list of non-substantive changes made in the original-spelling text, including the correction of misprints; a list of changes made to the lineation of the control-text; and a literatim reprint of the stage directions of the control-text.
