Amanda Claridge is emeritus Professor of Roman Archaeology at Royal Holloway University of London. Her recent publications include Rome: An Oxford Archaeological Guide (2010) and (with Ingo Herklotz) Paper Museum of Cassiano dal Pozzo: Classical manuscript illustrations (2012). Claire Holleran is Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Exeter. She is co–editor of the upcoming Demography and the Graeco–Roman World (with April Pudsey, 2011) and author of Shopping in Ancient Rome: the Retail Trade in the Late Republic and the Principate (2012).
