This short story about the singer/ songwriter and artist Joni Mitchell provides a history of Joni's achievements in the music industry. In doing so, it provides a list of many of her songs, an analysis of her unique contribution, feedback which some of her fellow musicians have provided over time and includes links to Joni singing many of her songs. It also provides this writer's opinion as to what makes her unique, and, in this writer's opinion, head and shoulders above all the others. Joni, at the time of this writing, February 2024, at the age of 80 years, is still performing, although in a much reduced rate, showing her resilience and commitment to her chosen profession.Malka Marom in her book "Joni Mitchell: Both Sides Now Conversations with Malka Marom", includes Joni's song lyric of "Woodstock" at the very beginning of her book. Woodstock happens to be one of this writer's favourite Joni Mitchell songs. It was composed by Joni on the occasion of the Woodstock festival, which Joni did not attend because of the difficulty of a pre-agreed engagement event and the difficulty of gaining access to the Woodstock site and exiting from it.

John is the author of 'The Silver Lining', which is the story of Lady Heath, and the history of the birth of Irish aviation in the 1930s.
