Change your life for the better, starting today, with this primer on positivity from Strictly star and It Takes Two host, Janette Manrara.
Whether you’re looking to boost your happiness, advance your career or manifest your big life goals, Janette’s delightful blend of advice, inspiration and life lessons from her time on stage and screen is just what you need.
Divided into four key pillars: Acceptance, Reflection, The Work and Discovery, her tried-and-true life advice centres around learning to love yourself. Each chapter offers hard-won wisdom alongside practical techniques to apply that wisdom to your own life, complete with all the steps to take to make your goals a reality. Janette is here to motivate you, empower you, spark joy and remind you that you are amazing.
Along the way, Janette shares her own poignant stories, from her childhood in a large Cuban family in Florida and her decision to pursue a career in dance to her big break on So You Think You Can Dance and finally, Strictly Come Dancing. Full of magic and glitter and joy, Tiny Dancer, Big World is a fun and practical guide for learning to embrace self-love and ambition, and how to be your best self in every aspect of your life.
Janette Manrara was born in Miami, Florida to a fun-filled and loving Cuban family, and it was evident from the very beginning that she was born to perform. Janette has danced all her life, including in the Broadway and West End international dance sensation Burn the Floor and on the American series So You Think You Can Dance. In 2013, she was cast as a professional dancer on Season 11 of Strictly Come Dancing, first partnering with fashion designer Julien Macdonald. Over the next eight years, she partnered with Jake Wood, Peter Andre, Melvin Odoom, Aston Merrygold, Dr Ranj, Will Bayley MBE and in her final year she reached the final with HRVY. In 2021, Janette was ready to take on a new challenge as one of the hosts of It Takes Two. She also co-hosts Morning Live on BBC One and headlines dance tours across the UK with her husband Aljaž Škorjanec. She is passionate about the power of positivity.
