Its roots reach back deep into West Berlin’s subcultural niches and Tresor’s emanations, like the eponymous label or the Berlin Atonal festival, extend into the present and beyond, critical reference points for electronic sound artists on every continent. Thirty years ago, the legendary venue threw open its doors, just off a Potsdamer Platz where broken slabs of Berlin Wall lay prostrate on the hardscrabble.
