Part V (Finishing) highlights the colouration and functional finishes of any fabric. Part VI (Consumer Concerns) is aimed at enhancing consumer satisfaction by generating awareness among consumers regarding selection, care and maintenance. Part VII (Miscellaneous concepts)—introduced in the present edition—guides students on career opportunities related to this course.

Seema Sekhri (PhD), Associate Professor, Department of Fabric and Apparel Science, Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, is a topper of M.Sc. (Home Science) and recipient of the university postgraduate scholarship. A life member of Home Science Association of India, Textile Association of India and Fibre Forum of India, she has a number of papers in reputed national and international research journals to her credit. With 25 years of teaching experience she has completed a UGC sponsored major research project on application of natural dyes in home textiles. A supervisor for 8 doctoral (5 completed, 3 ongoing) and 45 master's dissertations spanning a variety of areas of fabric and apparel science.
