A gifted artist, designer and glassmaker, Vittorio Zecchin was a major part of the Italian Art Nouveau, or Liberty, movement. This vivid, striking piece is part of a series of canvases commissioned for the dining room of the Hotel Terminus in Zecchin’s native Venice. Titled Le Mille e una Notte (A Thousand and One Nights), it depicts Aladdin alongside a procession of princes and princesses bearing gifts for the Sultan’s daughter.
