Foreword by George T. Simon Polic covers a small but significant period of Glenn Miller's life and music, from his enlistment in 1942 and the beginning of his Army Air Force Band in 1943, through its end in late 1945, giving an overall history of the band and a detailed recounting of the day-by-day activities of the band. With various indexes and two appendixes.

Edward F. Polic (BSEE, Illinois Institute of Technology; MBA, University of Chicago) has worked with liquid scintillation systems, plasma products, and sputtering systems for the production of integrated circuits at Packard Instrument Co., Perkin-Elmer Corp., and Gryphon Products. He is President of Advanced Instrument Development, a firm that develops and manufactures products for the x-ray industry. This ongoing Glenn Miller project has been a 40-year labor of love for him.
