Her Again is an intimate look at the artistic coming of age of the greatest actress of her generation, from the homecoming float at her suburban New Jersey high school to her star-making roles in The Deer Hunter, Manhattan, and Kramer vs. Kramer. Michael Schulman charts Meryl Streep's rise stardom on the New York stage, her passionate, tragically short-lived love affair with John Cazale, and her evolution as a young woman of the 1970s, wrestling with changing ideas of feminism, marriage, love, and sacrifice.
Michael Schulman has contributed to The New Yorker since 2006. He has written more than fifty pieces for The Talk of the Town, on subjects including Pee-wee Herman, Carrie Fisher, Patrick Stewart, Steve Coogan, Meryl Streep, Vidal Sassoon, and the inventor of the everything bagel. He has also written profiles of the playwright Katori Hall (The Mountaintop) and the musical satirist Tim Minchin (Matilda).
