The complete history of Monty Python, with bits in. The story of the Pythons in words, rare and unseen photographs and removable and on-the-page facsimile memorabilia.
Carlton Books presents Monty Python's Flying Circus: Hidden Treasures, the complete history of Monty Python, with bits in. Never before has the story of the Pythons been so brilliantly told, in words, rare and unseen photographs and fascinating examples of removable and on-the-page facsimile memorabilia.

The 'Dead Parrot' sketch. 'The Lumberjack Song'. 'Argument Clinic'. 'Spam'. Monty Python's Flying Circus was packed with famous skits and classic one-liners, many of which are still globally recognized from the Hollywood Bowl to the University of Woolloomooloo. Their irreverent humour is the yardstick by which others are judged and the adjective 'Pythonesque' has been part of the English language for years. This book delves into the official Monty Python archives for the first time and tells the Monty Python story through photographs, text and props in the shape of removable facsimile memorabilia, including hand-scribbled scripts, never-before-published cue sheets, postcards, programmes and more.

Adrian Besley enjoyed a long career at the BBC in London as a copywriter. He went on to write for a variety of children's television series, including the classic Wombles and Upstairs Downstairs Bears. He grew up an avid fan of Monty Python's Flying Circus and has realized a dream in spending his time researching and writing this book. Besley won the Bloomsbury Short Story Competition in 2014 and has worked on a wide range of humour, sport and popular culture books, including the popular YouTube World Records, The Dangerous Book for Idiots and The Outdoor Book for Adventurous Boys. He lives in London.

The inside story of all six members, from early days to the final curtain drop in London's 02 Arena in July 2014 • Includes removable facsimiles, including previously unpublished scripts, photographs and more... • QR code links to all the great sketches in HD on the Monty Python Official YouTube Channel.
