The Author: Mine Doğantan holds a B.A. in Philosophy (Boğaziçi University, Istanbul), a B.M. and M.M. in piano performance (The Julliard School, New York). She received her Ph.D. in Music Theory from Columbia University and has published articles on expressive performance, history of music theory, and affective response to music. She also recorded for the Turkish Radio and TV, and WNCN in New York. Currently Mine Doğantan is a professor of music and cultural history at Yeditepe University, Istanbul.
