'Only by melting the ice in the heart of Man does Man have a chance to change and begin using his knowledge wisely.'

Stella Polaris* Ulloriarsuaq is a globally initiated photo and film project that documents breathtaking photos and film footage of illuminated icebergs. They capture magical moments of these vanishing timeless icons. At a time when climate change is accelerating, the project builds a bridge of awareness between art, culture, and science. During two light-expeditions the crew implemented long- exposure in order to create these breathtaking paintings of light under extreme conditions for both people and technology. Only native light messengers illuminated the icebergs and glaciers of their rapidly changing homeland. Under the aurora’s magic, the motifs find enormous expression through their emotional ability to shine. The message is carried by all generations— everyone from children to the elder. The project team consists of Nomi Baumgartl (photographer and initiator), Sven Nieder (photographer), Yatri N. Niehaus (film director), and Laali Lyberth (Greenland coordinator).
