Is a magical place where Christmas trees grow.
Little Spruce has a BIG dream. He wants to be a Christmas tree, but every winter he is left behind in the forest. When a special family appears, Little Spruce’s dream finally comes true. But what will happen after Christmas?
A tiny tree’s BIG Christmas adventure!
Little Spruce is a magical, inclusive picture book about a tiny tree who dreams of being chosen as a Christmas tree. One day a family does just that, but after Christmas Little Spruce is mistakenly taken away with the rubbish. Will Little Spruce be able to escape the woodchipper and get home to his family? And what place is there for a Christmas tree once the tinsel comes down anyway?
Little Spruce centres a blended family and a non-secular Christmas celebration, with a community of diverse characters and subtle themes of sustainability. Think Han’s Christian Andersen’s The Fir Tree with a modern setting and a happy ending!
Sital has always loved books! As a child she read as much as possible and the library was her favourite place to visit. When she wasn’t reading, she was writing, doodling or daydreaming about stories. As a grown-up, Sital spent many years working in a bank, then as a yoga teacher, then she had three children. It was while her youngest was a baby that she started writing again. And she hasn’t stopped since! She writes fiction, non-fiction and poetry for children, including a little something for CBeebies! At the age of 5, Vicky watched her older brother draw Jolly Jumper. She was so fascinated by seeing a character come to life on paper, she realised there was a magical world other than the one she lived in, where anything is possible. She has been drawing and playing in that parallel universe ever since.
