The Science Club's pet hamster, Einstein, is a bit restless in his cage, so Mrs Khan suggests that the Science Club start investigating animal and plant habitats. They discover the huge range of different habitats around the world, from the school pond to the vast Amazon rainforest, and find out how animals adapt to live in particular places. At the end of the project, the Science Club use what they have learned to make Einstein's cage even better.
The Science Club follows a group of science-mad kids who meet at a club where they learn about science through their own experiences and discoveries. For example, at one club someone brings in a fossil, leading to an investigation into the rock cycle, dinosaurs and fossil formation. At another, a storm inspires the children to learn about lightning and other forms of electricity. Each story features sweet, humorous illustrations and includes simple experiments for readers to try for themselves.
