Follow along as five little skeletons go trick-or-treating on Halloween night. But when they take their scares too far, can a skeleton dance save the day?
Andrew Gold released "Spooky Scary Skeletons" in 1996. Since then, it has become a viral sensation, with over 8 billion views on both YouTube and TikTok... and counting! Now, fans of all ages can sing along to the complete lyrics, which have been paired with playful illustrations.
Spooky, scary skeletons
Speak with such a screech—
You'll SHAKE and SHUDDER in surprise
When you hear these zombies shriek.
An ideal read-aloud for Halloween or ANY time of year, this is sure to become a cherished part of family bookshelves for years to come.
Andrew Gold was a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who worked on everything from TV theme songs (including "Thank You For Being a Friend" for The Golden Girls), to Linda Ronstadt records (like her breakthrough album Heart Like a Wheel), to his own top-40 hits, such as "Lonely Boy"—and so much more. In 1996, he released the album Halloween Howls: Fun & Scary Music, which included “Spooky, Scary Skeletons,” along with eight other original scary tunes. The universe is truly more fun and scary thanks to his music! Polona Lovšin has always been drawn to projects that express her artistic creativity, particularly those that make life’s difficult moments, such as separation or death, more accessible to children. Inspired by her older brother’s drawing ability, she developed a fascination for detailed and character-rich illustrations, often losing herself in them for hours. Her work is further inspired by her two daughters and two playful corgis.
