Anniversary edition of an easy read for young children, especially children who might be moving away from picture books and on to early readers.

Are you ready to give up your picture books for good?

SO is Max!

Max hates his picture books and throws all of them away. Little does he
know, this impulsive act sends him on a journey to discover the power
and magic of his own imagination. Join writer and illustrator Timothy
Young as he masterfully blends humor and irreverence, poking fun at and
celebrating the classics of children's literature. I Hate Picture Books! celebrates the joy of reading, reminding the reader of the immeasurable treasures found within the pages of a book.

Now with an additional 50 famous picture books illustrated in the
background of the depicted scenes, serving both as Easter eggs for
discovery and as a source for new great picture books to try.

Timothy Young has been an animator, puppet maker, toy designer, sculptor, art director, and graphic designer. He’s designed for Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, the Muppets, The Simpsons, Disney, and Universal Studios. Timothy is the author/illustrator of over a dozen children’s book titles, including The Angry Little Puffin, If You Give a Puffin a Muffin, Untitled, I Hate Picture Books, and the Family Choice Award–winning I’m Going to Outer Space! His favorite part of being an author is traveling to schools and talking to kids.
